The BBC Philharmonic has announced its 2017/18 season at Bridgewater Hall, featuring Ben in two concerts. His programmes will include Mahler’s Symphony No.1, arguably one of the most important symphonic works of the 19th century and Beethoven’s Symphony No.7. Ben will be joined by two eminent soloists – Richard Goode, for Mozart’s Piano Concerto K466, and Stefan Dohr, the Berlin Philharmonic’s Solo Horn, to play concerti by Stefan Rihm and Mozart (K417).  Ben will conduct the orchestra in other concerts throughout the season, including in Leeds in January for Brahms’s Symphony No.2, when he will be joined by Louis Schwizgebel as soloist for Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto.

As Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic, Gernon is one of the youngest conductors ever to have held a titled position with a BBC orchestra.
